RabaTEENS is a nurturing space for deep and meaningful Islamic spiritual mentorship with compassionate and caring mentors. We design fun, creative, and positive educational experiences to help teens grow confidently and comfortably into their faith.

Class Description

The teenage years are some of the most challenging and transformative times in a young Muslimah's life. From hormonal changes and navigating friendships to peer pressure, social media influences, and discovering one’s purpose, there’s a lot happening during these formative years. Questions naturally arise—about the body, emotions, and the deeper meaning of life—and it can often feel overwhelming.

This course is designed to provide guidance and clarity on the topics that matter most to Muslim teen girls. With the prompts and reflections of Auntie Aisha Answers by Aisha Hussain Rasheed, students will explore essential aspects of their mind, body, and spirit. Discussions will include setting healthy boundaries, managing emotions like anxiety, caring for the body as the amanah (trust) it is, and embracing spiritual self-care. The course also addresses often-overlooked topics, like viewing menstruation with positivity, understanding autonomy, and answering the lifelong question: “How can I use my blessings to please Allah ﷻ?”

Through interactive exercises and engaging discussions, students will clear up misconceptions and develop positive attitudes toward the growing pains of adolescence. This course aims to empower young Muslimahs with practical tools and wisdom, helping them build confidence and shape their path to becoming well-rounded, faith-driven individuals.

Class Outline

Week 1: Body is a Blessing

This session introduces the concept of the body as a blessing from Allah ﷻ. Students will explore the diversity in creation, understanding that strengths and weaknesses are part of Allah’s design. Discussions will focus on identifying personal strengths and weaknesses and reflecting on how these traits can be used to help and uplift those around them. The lesson emphasizes gratitude for Allah’s blessings and the importance of viewing all aspects of oneself as part of His divine plan.

Week 2: Self-Care – Physical and Spiritual

Students will learn that taking care of their physical and spiritual well-being is a form of gratitude to Allah  for the blessings He has bestowed. The session will delve into ways to maintain physical health while nurturing the soul through spiritual self-care. Activities will encourage students to think critically about how they balance both aspects in their lives and recognize the interconnectedness of physical and spiritual health as an act of worship.

Week 3: Girl Talk – Period Preparedness

This week’s session creates a safe and supportive environment to discuss menstruation. Students will explore how to prepare mentally, spiritually, and physically for their periods, with practical guidance on assembling a personalized period pack. Topics include dispelling myths, managing emotions, and embracing menstruation as a natural and positive part of life. By the end of the session, students will feel more confident and equipped to navigate this important aspect of growing up.

Week 4: Emotions and Boundaries

Emotions like grief, worry, and anxiety are natural and a part of life’s journey. In this session, students will explore how to process and manage these emotions, as well as learn the importance of setting and maintaining healthy boundaries. Discussions will focus on developing autonomy and navigating the changes that come with growing older, offering practical tools to help students handle their emotions while maintaining their values and relationships.

Week 5: Gender Roles – Finding My Place in the World

The final session inspires students to explore their identity and role in the world through the lens of Islamic teachings. They will reflect on women who serve as role models for strength, faith, and capability. Discussions will highlight how these women used their blessings to please Allah and how their stories can inspire students to become strong, believing Muslimahs. The session will end with a focus on finding purpose and contributing meaningfully to their families, communities, and the Ummah.
