RabaTEENS is a nurturing space for deep and meaningful Islamic spiritual mentorship with compassionate and caring mentors. We design fun, creative, and positive educational experiences to help teens grow confidently and comfortably into their faith.

Class Description

Glow Kitchen: Faith-Fueled Recipes is a fun, interactive cooking class where teen girls learn how to prepare simple, delicious recipes while exploring Islamic values around food, gratitude, and intention. Over five weeks, students will make trendy, easy-to-follow dishes inspired by Sunnah foods and everyday ingredients, while building practical kitchen skills they can use for years to come. This class encourages creativity, independence, and confidence, showing teens how food can be a meaningful part of daily life and worship without being complicated or overwhelming.

Through each session, students will connect what they cook to deeper values such as niyyah (intention), shukr (gratitude), moderation, and avoiding waste. They will also learn how to follow and adapt recipes, make thoughtful food choices, and approach cooking as an act of care for themselves and others. By the end of the course, students will feel more confident in the kitchen and more intentional in how they approach food in their everyday lives, inshaAllah.

Class Outline

Week 1:  Sweet with Purpose - Snickers Date Bars

Students will explore the concept of intention (niyyah) in everyday actions while learning how to prepare no-bake Snickers-style date bars using simple ingredients. The session highlights the significance of dates in the Quran and Sunnah, their unique qualities, and their place in Islamic tradition.

This session introduces students to the concept of food pairing through a well-known hadith about combining foods, helping them understand how balance and enjoyment are reflected in everyday Sunnah practices.
