Lessons from Luminous Women
Summer 2026
RabaTEENS is a nurturing space for deep and meaningful Islamic spiritual mentorship with compassionate and caring mentors. We design fun, creative, and positive educational experiences to help teens grow confidently and comfortably into their faith.
What does it really mean to love and follow the women of the Seerah?
Inspired by classes by Anse Dr. Tamara Gray, this five-week program was created from a powerful realization: learning about the female Companions (R) is not just about listening to inspiring stories, but about allowing their character, courage, wisdom, and love for Allah ﷻ to shape the way we live today. Each week, students will “walk with” one remarkable woman from the Seerah through storytelling, meaningful discussion, creative art journaling, and personal reflection. Together, they will explore how these women showed strength, compassion, patience, and trust in Allah ﷻ through different challenges and experiences.
But the journey does not end in class. Each session also includes a simple real-life challenge inspired by the Companion (R) studied that week, encouraging students to put lessons into practice through acts of kindness, reflection, courage, and connection. Through both creativity and action, students will be encouraged to live the values they learn rather than simply study them.
This is a warm and supportive space for teens who enjoy storytelling, creativity, reflection, and meaningful conversations. Through art, discussion, and practical application, students will deepen their connection to inspiring Muslim women from our tradition while building empathy, confidence, and a stronger relationship with Allah ﷻ.

Week 1: Sayyidah Khadijah (R): Love, Comfort, and Belief
Students will learn about the strength, gentleness, and unwavering support of Sayyidah Khadijah (R), especially during the earliest days of revelation. Through a reflective zentangle quilt art activity inspired by comfort and care, students will explore what it means to support and encourage others. The week’s challenge invites students to uplift someone in their own lives through sincere and thoughtful words.
Week 2: Sayyidah Zainab bint Muhammad (R): Loyalty, Patience, and Faith
This week focuses on the story of Sayyidah Zainab (R), her deep love, resilience, and trust in Allah ﷻ during times of hardship and separation. Students will create an artistic “map of the heart” while reflecting on faith, love, and emotional strength. The week’s challenge encourages students to strengthen their hearts through consistent dhikr and remembrance of Allah ﷻ.
Week 3: Sayyidah Fatimah bint Muhammad (R): Love and Gratitude
Students will explore the beautiful relationship between Sayyidah Fatimah (R) and the Prophet ﷺ, reflecting on love, compassion, and honoring those who care for us. Through expressive writing and art, students will create a heartfelt message for someone important in their lives. The week’s challenge encourages them to share those words directly through conversation or connection.
Week 4: Sayyidah Al-Shifa (R): Healing, Knowledge, and Service
This week introduces students to Sayyidah Al-Shifa (R), known for her intelligence, healing, and dedication to teaching others. Students will create an artistic “prescription” or list of things that bring comfort and healing to the heart and mind. The week’s challenge focuses on making sincere dua for someone else and reflecting on the power of caring for others through prayer and support.
Week 5: Sayyidah Umm Salamah (R): Wisdom, Reassurance, and Growth
In the final week, students will learn about the wisdom and calm reassurance of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (R), especially during difficult moments in the Seerah. Students will create a mini-zine filled with reminders, reflections, and words of encouragement inspired by her example. The course concludes with a challenge centered around seeking beneficial knowledge and continuing personal growth beyond the classroom.
