Class Description

Create your own space through a guided class with a professional instructor who specializes in home decorating, construction, and painting. Throughout the 5 weeks of this class, you will learn how to paint, redecorate, and organize your room to create a peaceful, beautiful space perfect for study, worship, and a happy life. This course is designed to help you transform your room into a sanctuary where you can feel calm, focused, and joyful.

In this class, you will learn the skills needed to plan and implement a project from start to finish. We will cover everything from prepping your room, fixing minor imperfections, decorating, organizing, tidying, painting, and completing the project. You'll learn how to create a positive vibe that will make your room an angel magnet, focusing on perfecting every little detail to ensure your space is just right.

Students will have the option to attend, listen, watch, and learn during the classes, or they can put in extra hours between sessions to complete their own room redecorating projects. Whether you choose to work on your room step-by-step with the instructor or take on additional tasks in your own time, you will gain valuable skills in project planning and execution. By the end of the course, you'll have a beautifully transformed room that reflects your personal style and needs.

Class Outline

Week 1: Intro & Planning

In this first session, we will set our intentions for the project and think about what we want to achieve. We'll brainstorm ideas for our ideal room and discuss how we can create a space that feels peaceful and conducive to study, worship, and relaxation. By the end of this session, each student will have a clear plan for their room transformation, including a mood board or list of desired changes.

Week 2: The Importance of Preparation

This week, we will dive into the crucial steps needed before starting any decorating project. We will discuss and plan how to fix any imperfections in the room, clean surfaces thoroughly, and protect areas that shouldn't be painted. Proper preparation ensures a smooth and professional finish, so we'll emphasize the importance of taking the time to do this right. Students will learn practical skills for prepping their spaces and will start implementing these steps in their rooms.

Week 3: Painting Skills

In this session, students will learn the essential techniques for painting, including cutting in around edges and rolling large surfaces. We'll practice these skills together and talk about making Dhikr (remembrance of Allah) with each brush stroke and roll of the paint. This spiritual practice aims to maximize the blessings for the room, turning a simple task into a mindful and meaningful activity. By the end of the session, students will feel confident in their painting abilities and understand the spiritual aspect of beautifying their space.

Week 4: Completion of the Project

This week, we will focus on putting the room back together with accessories, lighting, and finishing touches that make the space unique and functional. We'll discuss how to choose and arrange decor items to create a cohesive and inviting environment. Students will work on these final details, ensuring that their rooms reflect their personal style and meet their needs for study, worship, and relaxation.

Week 5: Presentation of Projects

In the final session, students will present their before-and-after results to the class. Each student will share photos or videos of their transformed rooms, reflecting on the challenges they faced during the project and the learning moments they experienced. This presentation will provide an opportunity to celebrate everyone's hard work and creativity, and to appreciate the beautiful, personalized spaces that have been created.
