RabaTEENS is a nurturing space for deep and meaningful Islamic spiritual mentorship with compassionate and caring mentors. We design fun, creative, and positive educational experiences to help teens grow confidently and comfortably into their faith.

Class Description

Names of Allah is a journey through the divine names of Allah ﷻ.  We will explore the names that Allah ﷻ  uses to describe Himself, deepening our understanding of our Creator. We will learn the meanings and attributes of Allah ﷻ  and how they can guide us on our spiritual journey.

Through discussions and reflective exercises on His names ﷻ,  we will learn how to connect with these divine qualities and incorporate them into our daily lives, strengthening our relationship with Allah ﷻ.  By contemplating these attributes, we will gain insights into the essence of Allah’s ﷻ  mercy, love, majesty, and forgiveness — fostering a deeper understanding of our faith.

Class Outline

Week 1:  The Merciful

We will explore the names Ar-Rahman (The Entirely Merciful), Ar-Rahim (The Most Compassionate), Al-Malik (The King), and Al-Quddus (The Absolutely Pure). Through reflections and activities, we will discuss what each name means and how it reflects Allah's ﷻ  attributes.

Week 2:  The Faithful

We will focus on the names As-Salaam (The Giver of Peace), Al-Mu’min (The Faithful), Al-Muhaymin (The Guardian), and Al-‘Aziz (The Almighty). We will explore how these names can help us grow in faith and bring peace into our lives.

Week 3:  The Majestic

We will delve into the names Al-Jabbar (The Compeller), Al-Mutakabbir (The Majestic), Al-Khaliq (The Creator), and Al-Bari’ (The Maker). We will reflect on how Allah’s ﷻ  majesty is manifested and how He mends what is broken.

Week 4:  The Constant Forgiver

We will study the names Al-Musawwir (The Fashioner), Al-Ghaffar (The Constant Forgiver), Al-Qahhar (The Dominator), and Al-Wahhab (The Giver of Gifts). We will discuss Allah’s ﷻ  forgiveness and how His giving is always a gift, even when we may not recognize it as such.

Week 5:  The Opener

We will explore the names Ar-Razzaq (The Ever-Providing), Al-Fattah (The Opener), Al-‘Alim (The All-Knowing), and Al-Qabid (He Who Contracts). Through reflections and activities, we will consider Allah’s ﷻ  ability to open doors for us and why, at times, He withholds things for our benefit.

  • I liked how Anse is able to connect the names of Allah to personal life and experiences

  • I loved how Anse Sarah went in depth into the meanings of each Name and suggested ways that we could use it in our Dua.

  • I liked learning about the attributes of Allah through the Anse's life stories.

  • I really liked Anse Sarah's way of teaching, and my favourite part of the last class was when we drew our dream Jannah

  • I liked how there were a lot of examples of how to apply the names of Allah in our lives to be more mindful and remembering of Allah
