Class Description

The Quran is the word of Allah ﷻ, and every journey with the Quran begins one sound, one letter, and one step at a time. Quran 1: The Arabic Letters is designed for students who are beginning their Quran recitation journey and would like to build confidence in recognizing and pronouncing the Arabic letters correctly.

In this warm and encouraging class, students will learn the Arabic alphabet, letter sounds, and basic harakat while developing familiarity and comfort with reading Arabic. Lessons are taught step-by-step in a supportive environment that encourages patience, consistency, and a love for learning the Quran.

Alongside foundational reading skills, students will also reflect on the beauty and importance of building a relationship with the words of Allah ﷻ from the very beginning. This class aims to help students grow in confidence while creating a positive and meaningful connection to Quran learning, inshaAllah.

  • When I joined, I thought it would consist solely of quran recitation (which wouldn't have been bad!). However, there were so many beautiful activities we did that were about the Quran and fostering a relationship with it; I feel like my connection with the Quran is stronger than before, alhamdulillah!

  • I liked the gentle corrections. Anse Hanisah is very sweet and polite 💗

  • Anse Hanisah is a lover of the quran and we can feel it through the screen. She is joyful when she teaches us tajweed and we can't help but fall in love with reciting the quran.

  • I liked that it built my confidence.

  • This class was amazing! I loved how Anse taught us tajweed in such simple way, it made the rules so easy to understand, not only that, but fall in love with reciting the quran!

  • Anse Hanisah was the best part of this class. She was so kind and engaging!

  • Anse's way of teaching is special. She is patient, kind, caring, she is embodying in each and every one of us love for quran and especially the recitation of the quran!

  • Anse explains everything in a way that is easy to understand and has taught me alot.

  • I love how we are able to connect with the Qur'an on a weekly basis due to this class, and Anse is super kind and helped me so much with my recitation

Her Quranic journey began in Oman, where she studied Tajwid under the guidance of a teacher from Libya whose deep love and passion for the Quran left a lasting impact on her. While living in Oman, she homeschooled her children in Islamic studies, taught at an Islamic school for expat children, and hosted annual Quran recitation circles during Ramadan. She also played a vital role in organizing halaqat and other Islamic events for the expatriate community in Oman. Anse Hanisah has studied under huffadh from Oman, Libya, Syria, Malaysia, and Egypt and continues her journey towards obtaining her ijazah under Ribaat’s esteemed scholars. Beyond her teaching, she is a multipotentialite with interests in crochet, baking, journaling, reading, photography, and writing, as well as a mother to three beloved cats.
