Anse Alimat Diallo Mahmoud is a Togolese and Ghanaian American educator, community builder, and student of sacred knowledge. Born in Togo and raised in New Jersey, she graduated from Rutgers University, studying Biology and International Relations. After university, Anse Alimat spent two years in Malaysia pursuing Islamic studies and has continued her studies through Rabata’s Ribaat Academic Institute and Qalam Seminary, where she completed Year One. Her community work spans organizations including ALIM and the Village Aunty Institute, where she has served in leadership, mentorship, and programming roles focused on cultivating meaningful spaces for learning, spiritual growth, and community. Anse Alimat is deeply passionate about faith, culture, storytelling, and community, particularly exploring her Hausa, Fulani, and Ewe heritage and the traditions that have shaped African and Muslim communities across generations. At the heart of her work is a desire to create spaces rooted in sacred knowledge, sisterhood, love of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, and meaningful service.
