Class Description


Ready to upgrade your spiritual growth and connection to Allah ﷻ? 

In this class, students will delve into the profound practice of Salah, learning not only the physical movements but also delving into its spiritual and mental dimensions. Through understanding the translation of the words recited in prayers, we aim to internalize their meanings, fostering a deeper connection with Allah . By exploring the significance of each prayer and its impact on our daily lives, students will learn how to manage their day around Salah, integrating this essential aspect of worship into their routines. Through interactive discussions, reflections, and hands-on practice, students will deepen their understanding of Salah as a holistic practice that nourishes the soul, mind, and body. 

In our sessions, students will be provided with valuable insights and practical tips on how to align their daily activities with Salah, ensuring that it remains a cornerstone of their spiritual practice. From time management techniques to creating conducive environments for prayer, students will gain valuable skills to enhance their Salah experience. We will also explore the beauty of optional prayers, specifically with the upcoming Ramadan, to enrich our spiritual journey during special times of the Islamic calendar. 



Class Outline


Week 1: Salah in the Early Days of Islam

In this week's lesson, we will begin by journeying back to the early days of Islam to explore the origins and significance of Salah. Delving into the historical context, students will uncover the pivotal role that Salah played in the lives of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions. Through studying the practices and rituals of Salah during this foundational period, we will gain valuable insights into its evolution and importance as a cornerstone of Islamic worship. We will immerse in the rich history of Salah and discover the timeless wisdom that continues to guide Muslim communities worldwide. 


Week 2: Beauty of Salah

We will delve into the profound beauty of Salah and explore the reasons behind its significance in Islam. Beyond the obligatory nature of Salah, we will uncover its deeper spiritual and psychological benefits, ranging from fostering mindfulness and gratitude to strengthening our connection with Allah . Through reflective discussions and personal insights, students will come to appreciate Salah not just as a religious obligation but as a transformative practice that enriches our lives and brings us closer to our Creator. 


Week 3: Purification - Physical & Spiritual 

In this session, we will delve into the dual concept of purification in Islam, encompassing both physical and spiritual aspects. Students will explore the importance of ritual purification (Tahara) before engaging in Salah, understanding its significance in preparing the body and mind for worship. Students will also unravel the deeper spiritual symbolism behind purification rituals, recognizing them as a means to cleanse not only the body but also the soul, fostering a state of inner purity and spiritual readiness for connection with Allah


Week 4: Exploring the Recitation  

This week, we will explore the recitations in Salah, delving into the profound significance of the verses and phrases uttered during prayer. Students will immerse themselves in the beauty of Quranic recitation, uncovering the meanings that infuse each prayer with spiritual depth and resonance. Through this session, we will gain a deeper understanding of the linguistic and spiritual dimensions of Salah recitations, fostering a richer connection with the divine messages conveyed through each word.


Week 5: Ramadan Special Edition! 

In this final session, we will learn how Salah during Ramadan brings extra blessings and an opportunity to draw closer to Allah ﷻ, especially through the congregational prayer (Jama'ah) and Taraweeh. We will learn the significance of praying in Jama'ah, its rewards, and how it fosters a sense of community and unity. We will also learn the spiritual importance of Taraweeh, and the practical tips on how to approach these prayers with enthusiasm and sincerity. The class will conclude with us sharing reflections on how we can feel inspired to elevate our Salah during Ramadan and beyond.

This class is for teen girls ages 12-17 years old 

*Please note: Enrollment into the RabaTEENS program is on a per-student basis. If two (or more) students are planning to attend a class together by sharing a screen, each student will need to enroll for class individually. Students must attend Zoom live sessions. Classes are NOT recorded.

A certificate of participation will be given to students who complete the class.

Anse ‘Alimatunnisa Abdul Ghani

Anse ‘Alimatunnisa Abdul Ghani was born and raised in Singapore. She studied Arabic and Islamic sciences at Madrasah Wak Tanjong Al-Islamiah for 12 years. Afterwards, she travelled to Damascus, Syria once completing her GCE A-Level to pursue her bachelor’s degree from Abu Al Nour University in the Faculty of Islamic Da’wa. Anse ‘Alimah spent four years in Damascus, Syria and one year in Beirut, Lebanon learning from various scholars, both male and female. She considers Damascus her hometown; a place where she found profound spirituality and amazing upbringing. She is now back in her home country Singapore and enjoys sharing the gems she has gained from her teachers with her community. She has experience in teaching Islam to students of various ages and backgrounds, including students with learning differences such as Autism, Down Syndrome and ADHD. She enjoys working with youth and adults alike - those who are new to Islam or learning more about the sacred sciences.
