RabaTEENS is a nurturing space for deep and meaningful Islamic spiritual mentorship with compassionate and caring mentors. We design fun, creative, and positive educational experiences to help teens grow confidently and comfortably into their faith.


Class Description


Sunny Soul Sessions: Diving into Allah's Names is an enriching 5-week exploration of the divine Attributes of Allah. In each session, we will learn about select Names of Allah, what they mean to us, and how they show up in our everyday experiences. Learning about the Names of Allah inspires us to grow spiritually, emotionally, and mentally and builds confidence in our faith and in knowing we have the greatest God supporting us throughout and in all aspects of our lives. Through heartfelt discussions, personal reflections, and collective worship, we will feel more grounded in our faith and connected to our Creator. 

Join us in these illuminating sessions where we bask in the warmth of sisterhood and the cool breeze of spiritual discovery, as we dive in the vast oceans of Islamic learning. 



Class Outline


Week 1: Al-Hadi, Al-Rabb, Al-Razzaq, Al-Latif

In the first week, we will explore the names of Allah: Al-Hadi (The Guide), Al-Rabb (The Lord), Al-Razzaq (The Provider), and Al-Latif (The Gentle). We'll discuss what each name means and how it reflects Allah's attributes. We'll also learn how these names can guide us in our daily lives and bring us closer to Allah. Through stories and activities, we'll see examples of how Allah is our Guide, Lord, Provider, and  Caretaker. 


Week 2: Al-Salam, Al-Mu’min, Al-Muhaymin, Al-Qadir

In the second week, we will focus on the names Al-Salam (The Source of Peace), Al-Mu’min (The Inspirer of Faith), Al-Muhaymin (The Protector), and Al-Qadir (The Omnipotent). We’ll talk about how these names can help us find peace, strengthen our faith, feel protected, and trust in Allah’s power. Through interactive discussions and reflections, we’ll understand how to seek peace, strengthen our iman, feel safe under Allah’s protection, and recognize His ultimate power. 


Week 3: Al-Ghafar, Al-Ghafur, Al-Afuw, At-Tawwab 

In the third week, we will delve into the names Al-Ghafar (The Ever-Forgiving), Al-Ghafur (The All-Forgiving), Al-Afuw (The Pardoner), and At-Tawwab (The Acceptor of Repentance). We will discuss the importance of forgiveness and repentance in our lives. We’ll share stories that illustrate Allah's boundless mercy and practice ways to seek forgiveness and pardon from Allah. Activities will include reflecting on our actions and understanding how to sincerely repent and ask for Allah’s forgiveness.


Week 4: Al-Wahhab, Al-Shakur, Al-Qabid, Al-Basit 

In the fourth week, we will learn about Al-Wahhab (The Bestower), Al-Shakur (The Appreciative), Al-Qabid (The Withholder), and Al-Basit (The Extender). We will explore how Allah gives us countless blessings, appreciates our good deeds, withholds or extends His provisions as He wills. We’ll discuss how we can show gratitude for Allah’s gifts, trust in His wisdom during times of ease and hardship, and find balance in our lives through His guidance.


Week 5: Al-Sami’, Al-Raqib, Al-Shafi, Al-Nasir 

In the final week, we will study the names Al-Sami’ (The All-Hearing), Al-Raqib (The Watchful), Al-Shafi (The Healer), and Al-Nasir (The Helper). We will talk about how Allah hears all our prayers, watches over us, heals our ailments, and helps us in times of need. Through personal reflections and group activities, we’ll learn to rely on Allah’s attentive care, seek His healing, and trust in His help and support. We will conclude by sharing how these names can inspire us to live with more faith and confidence in Allah’s presence in our lives.

Instructor

Anse Umeda Islamova

Anse Umeda Islamova serves as the current Communications Manager for Rabata. She completed a Bachelor’s and a Master’s in Business. Anse Umeda has extensive experience in business, ranging from university commercialization and tech startup to retail and business consulting. She founded The Dua Journal in 2017, a global Islamic stationery brand. Upon building her brand, she discovered the rich world of Muslim female scholarship and Dr. Anse Tamara Gray. She has been a student of traditional Islamic education since 2018. Anse Umeda also serves as a RabaTEENS instructor and Rabata Padawans halaqa teacher. Locally, Anse Umeda can be found running halaqa for Muslim women from the masjid and university community.
