When the Prophets Prayed: Powerful Lessons in Duas
Spring 2025
RabaTEENS is a nurturing space for deep and meaningful Islamic spiritual mentorship with compassionate and caring mentors. We design fun, creative, and positive educational experiences to help teens grow confidently and comfortably into their faith.
Have you ever felt lost, anxious, or unsure of how to ask Allah ﷻ for help?
This class is designed to help Muslim teen girls discover the transformative power of duas (supplication) and learn how to seek Allah ﷻ’s help in every moment of life. The class focuses on the special prayers that the Prophets (AS) made when they faced difficulties, joys, and big life moments. Through their stories, we’ll discover how they turned to Allah ﷻ in every situation and what we can learn from their words.
This course will take students on a journey through the lives of some of the most inspiring Prophets, focusing on how they spoke to Allah ﷻ, what they asked for, and how their prayers were answered. Students will learn not just the words of these duas but also how to apply them to their own life—whether they’re feeling overwhelmed with school, friendships, or personal struggles.
This class is for students who want to strengthen their faith, find comfort in Allah ﷻ’s words, and learn how to make dua in a meaningful way. By learning from the experiences of the Prophets (AS) and appreciating how much dua was a part of their lives, inshaAllah we will begin to embrace dua in a way that feels personal, promotes optimism, and increases imaan and tawakkul.
Are you ready to unlock the power of dua?
Week 1: Prophet Adam (AS) – His Dua of Repentance and Seeking Allah ﷻ's Mercy
In this first session, students will explore the story of Prophet Adam (AS), focusing on his dua for repentance. The class will delve into how Adam (AS) sought Allah ﷻ's mercy, asking for forgiveness with sincerity and faith. Through his story, students will learn the beauty of seeking Allah ﷻ's forgiveness, and how Allah ﷻ's mercy is boundless, offering hope even in moments of regret.
Week 2: Prophet Nuh (AS) – His Dua for Guidance and Perseverance
This week, the focus shifts to Prophet Nuh (AS) and his unwavering faith despite the challenges he faced. Students will learn how Nuh (AS) remained patient and hopeful, even when faced with mockery and rejection. This lesson will inspire students to persevere in the face of difficulties and to make dua for patience, perseverance, and guidance in their own lives, especially when feeling lost or unsure.
Week 3: Prophet Ibrahim (AS) – His Supplications for His Family and Future Generations
This session will highlight the beautiful duas of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), especially his prayers for his family and future generations. Through Ibrahim's (AS) example, students will explore how making dua for others, particularly for the guidance and success of family and loved ones, and their communities, strengthens bonds and creates a sense of responsibility in caring for others' faith.
Week 4: Prophet Musa (AS) – His Dua for Strength and Confidence
In this week's session, students will learn about Prophet Musa (AS) and his dua for strength and confidence, particularly when he was called to confront Pharaoh. His dua highlights the importance of seeking Allah ﷻ's support in moments of self-doubt and fear, empowering students to turn to Allah ﷻ for strength and confidence in their own lives, whether in academics, social situations, or personal challenges.
Week 5: Prophet Zakaria (AS) – His Dua for Rizq (A Child) with Confidence
In this final week, the class will focus on Prophet Zakaria (AS) and his heartfelt dua for a child, despite his old age and the seeming impossibility of his request. This lesson will empower students to make dua for their own hopes and dreams, with a powerful reminder of the importance of making sincere supplications for what they desire, while having complete trust in Allah ﷻ's timing and power.
